Six through to Finals in Australia

Six through to Finals in Australia

It’s going to be an early start at the Commonwealth Games tomorrow in Gold Coast, Australia.

Six Irish boxers are through to the finals which begin at 3am (Irish time) on Saturday morning (Irish time) and run until approximately 11am.

Michaela and Aidan Walsh, the first brother and sister team to appear in Commonwealth boxing finals, Brendan Irvine, Kurt Walker, Carly McNaul and Kristina O’Hara will be in action in the last day of competition.

All six are guaranteed at least silver.

“It is a magnificent achievement to have six boxers through to the finals and the team and coaches deserved enormous praise for their performances so far, said IABA President Dom O’Rourke.

“I would be confident that they will do well in their finals. Everyone involved in Irish boxing wishes the six and the coaches the very best of luck on Saturday.”
